Hello, hello, it's Kirsty here from Bonjour Quilts with another weekend newsletter.
Come on over to the blog to read all about my super scrappy rainbow Hello Hearts! quilt. I'll give you the low-down on all my design choices and of course there are plenty of tips in case you'd like to make your version scrappy too.
A short Instagram video showing one way to make use of a yard of fabric.
Take your photographs (or anything else for that matter) to the next level with some embroidery.
Sometimes a small patchwork project is just what you need. This sweet pincushion tutorial is just the ticket.
And for a bit of fun, proof you can turn just about anything into art!
My favourite part of the newsletter! I love seeing the gorgeous quilts you've made from Bonjour Quilts patterns. Keep sending in your photos (just hit reply to this email) or tag me on Instagram or Facebook.
Nancy's Scrappy Posie quilt is full of delightful colour!
And another beauty - here's Juliet's version. I love seeing the same pattern made in two amazing styles. You can find the Scrappy Posie tutorial over here.
Remember my Scrappy Lattice quilt pattern?
Here are some more! Ardoth has a Scrappy Lattice quilt where the four-patch was replaced with a single square:
Cheryl's Scrappy Lattice is a heavy-duty scrap buster. She's used both neutrals (around the four-squares) and colourful scraps (in the cross blocks) instead of a single background fabric. It gives the quilt a whole different look - it reminds me of stained glass:
And even more scraps...Charlene made a fabulous version of the Scrap Magnet quilt, adding a wonderful matching border.
And finally, here's Jessica's Diamonds in the Deep, which looks really modern with colour blocking:
As always, thank you for sending in photos of what you've made. It makes my day to see these patterns come to life, and I know fellow newsletter readers love seeing these patterns made up in different fabrics. Keep sending them in!
I've been getting out and enjoying the lovely part of the Australia I live in. I'm not always able to get in a long walk every day, but I try my best.
As always, Tigger (orange) and Lulu (chocolate), send their love. They've been sitting around doing not much of anything but looking very cute while they do it. 😃
All my best to you, my friends. Take care and I hope you've been able to fit a little sewing in this weekend.
Until next time,
Kirsty x

The Quilter's Planner 2024 I'm very proud to announce that I'm a part of the Quilter's Planner for 2024! I've loved these planners ever since I received one at Quilt Market in Houston in 2017. Hello, hello, it's Kirsty here from Bonjour Quilts with another weekend newsletter for you. What I'm Sewing... I've almost finished my green and low-volume scrap quilt top - very appropriate given The Modern Quilt Guild tells me that today (Nov 4) is International Scrap Sorting Day. Sounds good to me! I keep my scraps in clear bags in a cupboard, and I love having them pre-sorted and on hand. I'm sure there are a million ways different people define a scrap, but mine all have to be smaller...
Hello, hello, it's Kirsty here from Bonjour Quilts with another weekend newsletter for you. What I'm Sewing... I finally finished my throw size Halloween quilt, yay! I was planning to send it off to the longarmer but I realised with a two-week turn around, half of October would be gone before I got it back. So I made the scary decision...to quilt it myself. Let's just say it wasn't the most fun I've had quilting! But you can read all about it in this new blog post, with plenty of photos. The...
