Hello, hello, it's Kirsty here from Bonjour Quilts with another weekend newsletter for you. Grab a cup/glass of your favourite beverage and let's dive in!
I'm very proud to announce that I'm a part of the Quilter's Planner for 2024!โ
I've loved these planners ever since I received one at Quilt Market in Houston in 2017. I'm so happy to be part of the 2024 edition.
2024's Quilter's Planner has block instructions from 12 guest designers, which fit together with a central block to create this fabulous Quilter's Compass Sampler.
And yes, there will be a sew-along throughout the year! With monthly prizes!
One of the things I love the most about the Planner is you can chose to configure it in the way you prefer. You can go hardcover, paper back, coil-bound or even digital (and print at home). You can have your weeks start on Monday or Sunday. You can have your days run across the top of the page or down the side. You can even buy interchangeable covers and slip-in dividers, etc for the coil-bound version. It's so clever and so much fun to configure a planner that works best for YOU.
I myself love the week starting on Monday, with the days running vertically (like below). I'm also a fan of the blue ombre cover.
The Quilter's Planner also has a ton of added extras in its pages. Sketching space and ways to record your quilty ideas and goals, and track your projects' progress. Instructions, tips and tricks for sewing common patchwork blocks, as well as instructions for the Quilter's Compass Quilt.
The wonderful team at Quilter's Planner gave all the guest designers a code to share with their audiences.

Bev at Flamingo Toes has this sweet tutorial for making a Christmas decoration from a star patchwork block.
โA quick 2 min video showing a Japanese artist at work. Newspaper is the star here.
โIncredible pieces carved from multiple layers of paint - colours and textures that delight.
โThis artist creates beauty from fabric in a different way than quilters, but it's still amazing.
โIssue No 55 of Make Modern Magazine is out now! I love independent quilt magazines ๐ฅฐ
I think this is everyone's favourite part of the newsletter! I love seeing the gorgeous quilts you've made from Bonjour Quilts patterns. Keep sending in your photos (just hit reply to this email) or tag me on Instagram or Facebook.
Judie's Lollies quilt is so bright and happy. You can read my blog post about the Lollies Quilt here.
Check out Jessica's gorgeous version of the Mountainside quilt - so serene and stylish! You can read all about the Mountainside quilt in this blog post here.
If scrappy, bright and beautiful is right in your wheelhouse, you'll love this Scrappy Lattice quilt by โ@fortifiedbeaver. Perfection!
I love this photo of Mary putting the binding on her Go West quilt. The colours are so beautiful and the floral backing fabric is such a good choice. You can read all about the Go West quilt in this blog post.
And given that it's already November, I wanted to remind you all about this festive table topper or wall hanging. You can read all about the Merry Xmas mini quilt in this blog post here. Cat sold separately.
You wouldn't believe it, but the cats have slept a lot this week. Very novel ๐ They send their love and hope you're also getting enough shut-eye in your week.
They're exhausted from all the cuddles we give them. ๐
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a fantastic week. Perhaps start a new project or get moving on that UFO (unfinished object) that's hanging over your head. Either way, have fun with it!
Until next time,
Kirsty x

Hello, hello, it's Kirsty here from Bonjour Quilts with another weekend newsletter for you. What I'm Sewing... I've almost finished my green and low-volume scrap quilt top - very appropriate given The Modern Quilt Guild tells me that today (Nov 4) is International Scrap Sorting Day. Sounds good to me! I keep my scraps in clear bags in a cupboard, and I love having them pre-sorted and on hand. I'm sure there are a million ways different people define a scrap, but mine all have to be smaller...
Hello, hello, it's Kirsty here from Bonjour Quilts with another weekend newsletter for you. What I'm Sewing... I finally finished my throw size Halloween quilt, yay! I was planning to send it off to the longarmer but I realised with a two-week turn around, half of October would be gone before I got it back. So I made the scary decision...to quilt it myself. Let's just say it wasn't the most fun I've had quilting! But you can read all about it in this new blog post, with plenty of photos. The...
Hello, hello, it's Kirsty here from Bonjour Quilts with another weekend newsletter for you. What I'm Sewing... Right now I'm piecing a black minky backing for a Halloween quilt. This fabric is so delightfully soft and snuggly, but it's a pain to sew. Just a pile of black minky? Wait... Eeek! Watch the pins, Lulu. I have a blog post outlining how I previously sewed a baby quilt with a minky backing over here, if you're interested. Speaking of Halloween - it's only a day until October starts....
